Hosa Audio FXT 401 Description:
Introducing Hosa's unique, new FXT-401 Long-Distance Firewire system! This bi-directional two-piece optical repeater system couldn't be simpler. Just connect one FXT-401 box near your "source" Firewire gear using regular Firewire cables, and connect the other box to your "destination" gear, which can be as much as 50 meters (165 feet) away. Audio / video suites can now access or send Firewire data to and from a computer or hard drive in another room; heck, even in another building! Use this system anywhere you need to transcend the typical cable length limitations imposed by the dreaded Firewire specification. Uses duplex fiber cables, sold separately.
