Electro Voice M-153 Description:
The Electro-Voice M-153 is a proprietary signal processing expansion card for insertion into the front panel slot of a P1201, or the dual slots of a P1202 power amplifier. The module inserts EQ, crossover design, and the unique VCP voice-coil protection circuitry, into the signal path between the above mentioned amplifiers, and a variety of Electro-Voice speakers.
The M-153 is matched to the functionality of the QRx-153/75, a speaker that must be bi-amped at 500Hz. The M-153 offers a 24dB/octave crossover at that frequency, with a Linkwitz-Riley filter that maintains the LF and HF polarity at that crossover point. The steep filter roll-off prevents the intrusion of out-of-band signals, optimizing the system performance. When the module is inserted, the amplifier input sensitivity changes to 0dBu.
